- This article is about the oil spills off the coast of New Orleans, as animal centers try their best to take in the oil covered animals, clean them up, and get them better. “A lot of wildlife comes in every week. Sometimes more than we are capable of even handling..." says veterinary technician Carrie Pizzalato. When catastrophes like the oil spill happen, there is a lot of work with clean up; especially with the environment, including the wildlife. It's a struggle, like Carrie said; sometimes it's even to much to handle that you don't know what to do anymore.

‘Phoenix law’ would double penalties for animal cruelty
- After a group of teens intentionally set a 5 1/2 month old Jack Russel Terrier named Phoenix on fire is recovering at the Buffalo Small Animal Hospital. Veterinarians performed skin grafts on his neck, underarms, as well as taking dead tissue off of his ears; and they have also worked to save his left hind leg. When Sean M. Ryan, an assemblyman went to announce the jail time and fines for the two teens, vet tech stood with him and the dog as he gave the announcement. Ryan rememberstotal shock on Bunges' face when the penalties weren't stronger for this crime.

Quack's Corner announces Golden Egg Awards
- Jamie Ziennker is a veterinary technician working at animal clinic in Millville, was awarded the golden egg award for going above and beyond to care for abused and homeless animals. She has saved many lives those new and those sick, ones brought into the clinic and those she brings in herself, she has a way with them; this is the type of person who truly loves their job and what they do.

German Shepherd recovers after being tossed from highway overpass
- A german shepherd experienced critical injuries after being tossed over a highway overpass; the dog was bleeding profusley with an open leg fracture with skid marks from hitting the road. "...he could have gotten hit by a car or anything could have happened after and who knows how long he laid out there..." said veterinary tech Kate Bellah
